Flight Lines: The Art of Natural History At OU

Collaborative exhibition featuring work from University of Oklahoma art students alongside ornithological illustrations from the the Ethnology collection at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History. Work included illustrations, prints and paintings depicting birds created by well known OU-related biologists George Sutton, Louis Agassiz Fuertes, and Frances Lee Jacques. This exhibition was co-curated alongside Dr. Claire Nicholas, Assistant Professor and Curator of Ethnology. This exhibition also featured lectures by well-regarded scientific illustrator Nancy Halliday, co-founder of the Guild for Natural Science Illustrators, as well as Dr. Kathleen Crowther, Professor of History of Science, Technology, and Medicine.
